Authentic Surinam chillies mashed with onions and lemon, a bit surprisingly because of the heat (it's like a Habanero-like heat) and refreshing tone of the lemon!
This combination turns this sauce into a simple chilli sauce. It is great for drizzling on almost everything. So wonderful right!? I remember my mom serving me the chilli sauce with some simple fried chicken wings, hmmm good old days.
2-3 Surinam chillies - Adjuma (they look like mini bell peppers, but exceptionally hot)
1 small onion
2-3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1. Mash the chillies and onion together in your mortar and pestle until a rough paste.
2. Mix in the lemon juice and transfer into an airtight container. It will keep good for about 5-7 days in your refrigerator.
